5 Ways to Beat the Heat in AZ

With summer in full effect here in the Valley of the Sun, it’s time to start looking for things to do to keep the whole family entertained. Here at Weather Masters, we know it can be difficult to find summer activities, so we’ve put together a list of our top 5 ways to beat the heat this summer. Enjoy!

Waterparks

Taking the family to one of the many waterparks in the metropolitan area of Phoenix is one of the best ways to cool off during the sometimes brutal heat of an Arizona Summer. Whether you head out to Big Surf, Wet ‘n’ Wild, or the Kiwanis Wave Pool in Tempe, you and your family can enjoy an entire day full of water slides, wave pools, and even miniature golf.

Staycations

Thinking about going on a vacation? Why leave the state? Any snowbird will tell you that Arizona has a ton of incredible hotels and resorts perfect for the whole family. With summer discounts underway, many local resorts even have special kids camps where your young ones can hang out and play with other kids while you and your SO enjoy a drink poolside!

Movies

Movie theatres are known to be one of the best places to go and cool off during an Arizona summer. Theatres like Harkins have been keeping kids entertained and cool during the summer for over 30 years with their 10 movies in 10 weeks program. With classics like Despicable Me, Horton Hears A Who, and The Lego Movie, you and your kids can head to the movies all summer long! More info here.

Splash Pads

Splash pads have become one of the newest ways to cool off during the summer. With slides, pools, and jets shooting water from the ground, your kids can run around and cool off in a safe environment. Splash pads can be found all across the valley at places like the Phoenix Zoo, Tempe Beach Park, and even some outdoor shopping centers.

Salt River Tubing

The Salt River has always been a great destination to bring the family. Bring a cooler, some sun block, and some towels and you’ll be set for hours of floating and relaxing down the cool, refreshing Salt River. Open seven days a week, you and your family can head down to the river as early as 8:30 AM. The Salt River also has fun themed days like Salt River Pirates, Rocking Rodeo Roundup, and Hawaiian Mega Hula!
